Geordie Shore's Gary Beadle has been spotted getting rather close to Australian DJ Tigerlily - real name Dara Hayes - mere hours after splitting with girlfriend Lillie Lexie, which hasn't gone down well with some. Man held at Guantánamo for 13 years a case of mistaken identity, say officials

A man who has spent 13 years in the US prison camp at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, was arrested partly in a case of mistaken identity, US officials conceded Tuesday. Officials admitted that Mustafa al-Aziz al-Shamiri, 37, was a low-level Islamist foot soldier and not an al-Qaida courier and trainer as previously thought, during a Guantanamo hearing. Wearing a beard and voluminous white T-shirt, and accompanied by a linguist and two personal representatives, the Yemeni appeared before a panel assessing whether he can be released. A profile published by the Department of Defense maintains he fought in Afghanistan and mixed with members of al-Qaida. But officials concede that they wrongly believed he had a more significant role because he was confused with others who had a similar name. “Mustafa Abd-al-Qawi Abd-al-Aziz al- Shamiri (YM-434) fought in several jihadist theaters and associated with al- Qaida members in Afghanistan,” the unclassified detainee profile said. “It was

David Cameron accuses Jeremy Corbyn of being 'terrorist sympathiser'

David Cameron has appealed to Conservative MPs to give him an overall parliamentary majority in favour of military action in Syria by warning them against voting alongside “Jeremy Corbyn and a bunch of terrorist sympathisers”. MPs will vote late on Wednesday after a10-and-a half-hour debate in the Commons. Amid Downing Street concerns that support among backbench Labour MPs is weakening, the prime minister told a meeting of the 1922 committee that he needed to win the vote solely on the basis of Tory MPs’ support to achieve his goal of securing a clear consensus. “You should not be walking through the lobbies with Jeremy Corbyn and a bunch of terrorist sympathisers,” the prime minister reportedly told the committee. His remarks, echoing an attack on Corbyn at the Tory conference in October, were confirmed to the Guardian by a senior MP who attended the meeting and came as the Labour leader accused Cameron of adopting a “bomb first, talk later” approach. Kylie Jenner has come under fire for her photoshoot in Interview magazine, specifically photographs of her posing in a wheelchair. The 18-year-old has posed for a spread shot by Steven Klein which sees her in a variety of poses and latex costumes. The shoot has been slammed by fans who are calling it “offensive,” with many Twitter users taking to the site to voice their anger. Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have called off their engagement

Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have reportedly called time on their relationship. It’s said that Johnny, guitarist with Snow Patrol, moved his belongings out of Courteney’s house in Malibu and flew back to Britain shortly before Thanksgiving. The pair, who’ve been together for two years and engaged since June 2014, apparently fought to keep their relationship together but that they couldn’t reconcile their differences, according to TMZ. It’s said that a difference in attitude to fame was a particular sticking point, with Johnny preferring to keep a low profile and Courteney being more comfortable in the spotlight. The pair became engaged in June 2014 after six months of dating. They hadn’t set a date for a wedding, but it was thought that their mutual friend Ed Sheeran was lined up to sing at the do. Johnny had involved Courteney’s daughter Coco in his proposal to her mum, and Courteney had spoken about how involved Coco would be in the wedding. Hand us a tissue s
