Kylie Jenner slammed for "disrespectful" wheelchair photoshoot

Kylie Jenner has come under fire for her photoshoot in
Interview magazine, specifically photographs of her posing
in a wheelchair.
The 18-year-old has posed for a spread shot by Steven Klein
which sees her in a variety of poses and latex costumes.
The shoot has been slammed by fans who are calling it
“offensive,” with many Twitter users taking to the site to
voice their anger.
I'm curious who the moron over at
@InterviewMag who put Kylie Jenner in a
wheelchair for the December cover is. How
fashion forward! Not.

But when Kylie sits in a wheelchair, she's
edgy and sexy. Whereas actual wheelchair-
using models have to fight to find work.

The magazine has already released a statement on the issue
saying: “At Interview, we are proud of our tradition of
working with great artists and empowering them to realise
their distinct and often bold visions.
“The Kylie Jenner cover by Steven Klein, which references
the British artist Allen Jones, is a part of this tradition,
placing Kylie in a variety of positions of power and control
and exploring her image as an object of vast media
scrutiny."

"Our intention was to create a powerful set of pictures that
get people thinking about image and creative expression,
including the set with the wheelchair. But our intention was
certainly not to offend anyone.”
Associate director of the Paul K. Longmore Institute on
Disability, Emily Smith Beitiks described the Kylie's shoot as
"deeply disturbing".
She told CNN:”People with disabilities are already seen as
powerless, and this just reinforces that.”
Other looks from the shoot include bottomless chaps and
Kylie posing in a mannequin-like posture. Just another day
in the life of Kylie!
