Neymar's Case reopend in Spain...What is it this time?

Image
The Brazilian is to be investigated again, along with his father and former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell, for alleged fraud and corruption in his move from Santos in 2013 The Spanish High Court has ordered a judge to reopen the investigation into the transfer of Barcelona forward Neymar from Santos in 2013. The case was thrown out in July by judge Jose de la Mata due to a lack of evidence, but a group of magistrates led by Angela Murillo claim to have found evidence of fraud and corruption and have therefore decided to reopen the investigation. Two contracts from November and December 2011 were re-examined and it is claimed that the €40 million payment made by Barca to the player to guarantee his signing infringes the "free transfer market" for footballers. That payment meant Neymar and his father would have to pay €10m to Barca if the deal did not go ahead, something described in the latest document as "conscious similation" and "a scam" b

POGBA - Waste of Money or ?

Image
The midfielder has not had a flying start to his second stint at Old Trafford, but those pointing the finger at the player himself need to reconsider the circumstances Paul Pogba’s return to Manchester United is already an unmitigated disaster. Or at least that is the impression you might have got from reading some reviews of the Frenchman’s performances in the losses to Manchester City, Feyenoord and Watford which have set Jose Mourinho’s side back over the past couple of weeks. Alongside the plight of Wayne Rooney, the role of Pogba has been perhaps the biggest talking point to come from the ugly run which was momentarily brought to a halt by Wednesday’s EFL Cup win at Northampton ahead of Saturday's clash with Premier League champions Leicester City. But to single out Pogba is to unfairly highlight an issue which is not of the Frenchman’s making at a time when United have far more deep-rooted problems to alleviate. It was always going to be a tough task to placate all o

Zidane frustrated with Real Madrid's poor start

Image
Sergio Ramos helped the hosts salvage a point after going behind at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the coach was left furious with a poor first half from his men Zinedine Zidane has voiced his frustration with Real Madrid's timid start in their 1-1 La Liga draw with Villarreal on Wednesday. Madrid fell a goal behind before the break when Bruno Soriano converted a penalty to open the scoring at Santiago Bernabeu, before Sergio Ramos eventually restored parity after the interval as the hosts stepped up their game. Los Blancos failed to net the winner, though, as their winning streak in the league ended at 16 successive matches. And Zidane has stressed they must improve the way they start games. "We managed to change things around after the break, but the first half was not good enough. That is not the first time this has happened. We will try to work on this," the Frenchman said at a news conference. We will now focus on our next game. We have to change some

Wenger vs Mou - Arsenal boss 'will not read' book about Jose Mourinho

Image
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he "certainly will not read" a book in which Manchester United counterpart Jose Mourinho is quoted as saying he would  break the Frenchman's face. Mourinho regularly clashed with Wenger while managing Chelsea, once describing him as a  "specialist in failure" . "I talk about football - that's all I do," said Wenger, 66, on Friday. "I'm not in a destructive mode, never. I'm more constructive. I am focused on Saturday's game against Chelsea." Mourinho, 53, described Wenger  as a "voyeur"  in 2005, after his rival questioned Chelsea's transfer policy. The Portuguese referred to Wenger as a "specialist in failure" in February 2014 after the Frenchman said other Premier League managers were playing down their title chances because they "fear to fail". In the aftermath, Mourinho is quoted - in a book serialised in the Daily Mail - as saying: &

Thrump Hit Clinton Again- Says Hillary Clinton Shares Responsibility for Charlotte Unrest

Image
Addressing supporters in suburban Philadelphia,  Donald Trump  laid blame for this week's unrest in Charlotte on Democratic rival  Hillary Clinton . "Those peddling the narrative of cops as a  racist  force in our society -- and this is a narrative that's supported with a nod by my opponent; you see what she’s saying and it’s not good -- shared directly in the responsibility for the unrest that is afflicting our country and hurting those who have really the very least," Trump told supporters at Sun Center Studios in Chester Township, Pennsylvania. Trump made the remarks as hundreds of demonstrators in North Carolina's most populous city kicked off a third night of protests following the fatal police shooting Tuesday of Keith Lamont Scott. Over the past three days, riot gear-wearing police have dispersed tear gas at protesters, some of whom have thrown bottles at officers, vandalized businesses, blocked an interstate, and tossed objects at vehicles. Jose Mourinho vows to protect players after more Wayne Rooney criticism

Image
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has again defended the performance of Wayne Rooney ahead of Saturday's Premier League meeting with champions Leicester City. Rooney was roundly criticised for his display in the midweek EFL Cup victory at Northampton Town, with  the player himself insisting most of the negative comments are "rubbish." Mourinho said United will win as a team and lose as a team when he was questioned about his captain's form at his prematch news conference. "We are a team, we are not Wayne Rooney," he said. 'We all started well, we all won four matches, and we all lost three matches in a week, so that is not Wayne Rooney. "To be honest he did not even play against Feyenoord, so he was directly involved in the two matches. "We had a very good start to the season, better than we expected and prepared for, and we were guilty of raising the expectations of the people and then we lost three matches in a row.&
